Alice Jones Milz is Assistant General Counsel for Claims, Litigation, and Employment at Rumpke Waste & Recycling, where she oversees the company’s claims department and manages employment and personal injury matters across multiple jurisdictions. In her role, she defends administrative employment claims, partners with HR on complex workplace investigations, drafts policies and trainings, and supervises outside counsel on employment and litigation matters. She also collaborates closely with safety and operations teams to develop best practices and mitigate risk.
Prior to joining Rumpke, Alice was a Partner in the Litigation Group at Dinsmore & Shohl LLP, where she handled complex tort and commercial litigation in state and federal courts in Kentucky and Ohio. Her practice included product and premises liability defense, trucking and catastrophic injury cases, insurance coverage disputes, and high-exposure, multi-claim litigation. Earlier in her career, she served as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Jefferson County, Kentucky, trying serious felony cases to verdict.
Alice earned her J.D. from George Mason University School of Law, and her B.A. from University of Pennsylvania, double majoring in History and Political Science. She is licensed in Kentucky and Ohio and is active in several professional and bar associations.
