Dr. Marco Pagani is Dean of the Williams College of Business at Xavier University. He is a higher education leader focused on program innovation, enrollment growth, and vocational discernment. He led the launch of new graduate programs—including an M.S. in Business Analytics, an M.S. in Finance, and an M.S. in Water Utilities Management, the first U.S. business graduate degree for the water industry—and created Xavier NEXT, a co-curricular initiative that strengthens career readiness through experiential learning.Previously, he served as interim dean of the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business at San José State University, where he expanded graduate enrollment, interdisciplinary degrees, and executive education, and co-founded the Center for Banking and Financial Services in partnership with industry.His research and teaching focus on corporate finance, capital markets, investments, and derivatives. His work has appeared in journals including Management Science, Journal of Banking and Finance, and Journal of Accounting and Finance, with recent research on financial censorship and its implications for financial services.He holds a Ph.D. from Georgia State University, an M.S. in Finance from HEC Montréal (Canada), and a B.S. in Economics from University Lyon II (France).
